Default Sylvania Silverstars... are they ALL this cheap?

I've had a '99 Accord 2-dr V6 since January. One of my factory headlights decided to go out early on, and a buddy of mine (and several people on this forum) recommended Sylvania Silverstar bulbs as a replacement. Supposedly they are a lot more of a true white color and illuminate the road better. I don't know about better illumination (they seemed a little more subdued), but they're definitely whiter and more, uh, flourescent looking?

Anyhow, in the time since I replaced both headlights with Silverstars, I've run through 5 (FIVE!) of the damn bulbs because they keep burning out! Those stupid things cost me $20 a pop, and last an average of 1.5 months, before they burn out. I've bought them at several different locations, so I doubt it's just a bad batch. I've NEVER, EVER touched the bulbs themselves when installing them, it's always just a burnt out filament - no glass cracking.

Is there something wrong with my car? The factory headlights last for years, are these Silverstar bulbs just that cheap?!?!

Did you read the post before responding? Anyhow, I'm glad you're having luck with them! Meanwhile, I'm out $100 on fucking light bulbs.

I'm going back to factory bulbs.

Hey, btw, I'm actually in Charlotte right now on business. Piper Glen is a pretty place! The restaurants here are pretty nice.

I have the same problem. They don't last long at all! I do not touch them when they go in, I always wear latex gloves.

So.... what does Sylvania say about the quality of their bulbs then? Do they own up to their shorter life-span? How can they justify charging the amounts they do for a bulb that only lasts a couple months?
