I just do the 9006/9005 conversion with the regular bulbs...works fine.

did you guys do the 9005 conversion? i tried silverstar 9005s but they blew in 8-10 months. it isn't my wiring or touching the bulb, either.

i've been going with ge superblue 9005s in three different accords and only a single bulb has blown at over 2 years old. they're whiter than halogen and brighter than 9006s but don't have the short lifespan of silverstars. it's a good value at $20/pair.

I'd recommend PIAA bulbs. I had those in my car for 2years before they blew out. I've got the silverstars now and they blew out in 6 months on me. if the next set goes out soon, I'm going to get another set of PIAA bulbs or go back to stock bulbs.

I've done a 9005 conversion on a set of Sylvania Cool Blues. They've been alive and kicking for over 3 years now. (6 months in the Accord, 30-ish in the Eclipse)

i had some in my car before i got my HID's for about 2 weeks before i started having problems with them. apparently the output was too much (even though they were h1's) and they shorted out my running lights, my blinkers, and other electronics before they blew themselves out... leaving me without headlights in the middle of the night on the capital beltway.. so i just got hid's

Had mine on Accord 2003 I4 sedan for about a year. No problem. Put same on my girlfriends 98 GrandAm (the every day car) and no problems there either. May be you have bad contacts or wiring problem. Something shorts out somewhere. When you go back to stock, see if they burn out as often. Then you will know for sure you have some kind of electrical issue.

Good luck

total hit or miss with silverstars. my brother installed some on his Xterra and I've yet to see a bulb last more than 10 months.

then you have your sucess story.

total luck of the draw when selecting a pack at the store

I had my first set of Silver Stars for a year and a half. Both burned out at the same time about three months ago. I replaced them with a new set. $40 bucks for a year and a half...not too bad.

i agree with e3NiNe... 50/50 chance of getting a good set. my first set of silverstars lasted for a year and a half. the second set blew out in six months. my third set has been going for about three or four months. hope they last...

I tried a set of Silverstars, they blew out way too quickly. Back to OEM (Stanley? Maybe Phillips) and I must say that I couldn't be happier with them...I don't have to worry about trying to leave my lights off as long as possible and they're almost as bright as the Silverstars...I really can't tell much of a difference.
