Default Brand New Belt Squeaks when car starts only

My belts where squeaking due to an oil leak, well I belive I fixed that with new gaskets and such, and then I cleaned the engine and then put brand new belts on. So every moring my belts squeak for like 1 second, and every afternoon it squeaks for 1 second. Also when I turn on the Air or the Heat it will squek for 1 second. I tightend up one belt and it didn't stop. But I dont know how tight it should be. any help appreciated. Thank you

Keep tightening the altenator/compressor belt till it stops squeaking then go a little more, They stretch after a while so it may start again

is there a way to know when it is too tight? I wouldn't want to bend the pullys or anything.

honda guy was right, it needed to be re-tightend, because the belts usually get broke in and then you got to re-tighten. I am just glad I don't have to hear that squeak evertime I start my car, it makes it look old if you know what I mean.

There are a few pivot bolts and 2 tensioners to mess with, I hope the picture helps!

You could also get the Haynes manual, I have it and I have changed out my belt myself, changed out my oilpan gasket myself, my valve cover gasket myself, and my clutch - throwout bearing - presure plate my self also. The haynes manual realy can help, and if you follow all directions, your garented to do it right, and you know if will be done right since your doing it yourself, also saving money!
