They may have been trying to sell you a flush and fill which replaces all of the tranny fluid, as opposed to a drain and fill which drains about 2.5 qts only. The drain and fill is all you need and you can do it yourself for the cost of 3 qts of honda ATF and a crush gasket. I wouldn't recommend replacing all the fluid.

If you have a manual I would recommend only Honda's trans oil (even though most lube shops will tell you that staight 30 weight motor oil is okay). BS My son is a manager of a lube shop and he goes to Honda for his Teg's tranny fluid, especially after he blew a hole the size of a broom handle in the side of his transaxle not too long after changing the tranny fluid with staight Citgo 30 weight. You live & learn, and sometimes listen to your Dad.

definitely recommend OEM Honda ATF. I use to do mine every once a year.
