After changing the filter on my 2000, I was pleasantly surprised that the 7th gen was so much easier. All you do is open the glove box, pinch plastic tabs on either side and remove the glove box. Release the plastic filter cover, slide out the tray, remove the dirty filter, put in the new one, slide back in, snap on the cover, and pop the glove box back in.

Not a single screw to remove...!

I am jealous of all you 7th generations. I have over 130k on my 2000 Accord EX and have now replaced the cabin filter 3 times (dealer did it the first time). The first time it took me 2 hours. Yesterday I had it down to less than 1 hour. I was foolish and paid $49 total for the two filters at a dealer. I could have paid half that online for the exact same product with shipping included.

I went 40k miles between the last change and I can sure tell a difference in air flow now. Smoggy Los Angeles and the dusty area north of there can do that. Maybe it's my imagination but my A/C feels a few degrees cooler.

Cabin air filter was a little bit of a job in our '98, so now I'm looking forward to this being EASY in our '03.

I've registered with ownerlink, & they never listed the recalls for my cars. For example I've had the ignition cylinder replaced in the '98, & a crankcase vent recall in the '03. Both were free but neither one was shown on OwnerLink. Call any dealer, give your VIN & they can tell you about recalls.

1) Cabin air filter replacement - Charge $55
2) Auto Transmission fluid is dirty, so it has to be replaced - Charge $65

My Question is, if I want to do these above changes by myself where can I get the air filter and transmission fluid cheaper (may be Honda genuine or recommended) and do you guys have any instructions or suggestions for how to replace them?

Thanks in advance.
Used Honda with 35k miles? At the 30k, ALL of these things should have already been done. Part of the 30k is to replace the air filter, cabin filter, and ATF. If the selling dealer would've done the saftey inspection the proper way, all of that is work that should've been done prior to selling the car. I think that dealer is trying to take you for a ride.

Yes, you are right it was replaced as part of 30k service by another dealer (from where the first owner got the car). I just mentioned about this in my previous post also

But just a month before it was replaced as part of 30k service by an other dealer.

My Honda Dealer locally is full of crap too. They told me all this stuff that "had" to be done to my Accord. Took it to a well respected Foreign Car place and they told me that wasnt the case. I also got a third opinion from another non-local Honda Dealer and they said the same thing...

Default Cabin Air Filter count is one or two in 7th Gen??

Stealer count is now increased to two

BTW, is there only one filter in 7th Gen? I believe 2 in 6th Gen. Today when I checked the cabin air filter in my 7th Gen under the glove box and I see only one anyone confirm this please?

That's correct; only 1 filter, but it is larger than each of the 2 needed for 6th gen Accords. Also, it is just accordion-folded paper - you will re-use the rubber tray it sits in (after cleaning it nicely with soap and water of course).
