Default Got my spoiler installed

Needless to say, the wife was very nervous as I drilled holes in my new trunk. Even though it had a template, I measured that both sides were exact about 10 times before drilling

The install went VERY smooth. I put a couple of coats of paint on the holes, and let it dry overnight before installing.

I have not installed the included springs. I'm not sure they will be needded. The trunk still pops open about 6 inches. I have a problem on my steep driveway, that if I pop the trunk and the springs are strong, it flies open and puts stress on the mounts. I will install them later if the stock springs weaken over time (and they do). The dealer said I can borrow the tool to do it if I need it.

I like tie finished look it gives the back of the car.

I have a set if titanium nitrate bits. I don't have metric bits, but I mic'd the closest match to 3mm and 8mm. Center punch the holes first to keep the bit from walking. I don't have a deburer, so I used a huge bit that i turned by hand to smooth the holes up.

I assumed you placed some type of tape on the paint before punching and drilling to prevent cracking of the surrounding paint?

Are they simply some DeWalt Nitride bits? I have a set of those with the pilot point for my drill. Assumed you would need a special metal bit though?

I installed an oem spoiler on my 94 accord about a year ago. Very easy to do. After marking the holes I used a center punch like 01accord did...when drilling i suggest starting out with a smaller drill bit and gradually increasing the hole size with bigger ones until you get to the final bit. That way if you mess up with a smaller hole you still have something to work with.

I like that rear spoiler. I wish Honda made that style spoiler for the 6th gen Accord. That Accord looks sweet, I love those rims and the all red tail lights that Honda switched to in 05. Looks excellent, makes me want to trade in my 02 EX V6.

Good job. I'm a fan of that spoiler also. If I add one later, that will be my choice. Heh, I'd be sweatin' bullets drilling those holes.

that spoiler looks awesome.

make sure to put alot of touchup paint over the newly drilled holes. that way, it won't rust out.
