Default automatic shift point modifications

is there any way that i could get a system that would change my shift points in a 97 accord, that would make it stay in certain gears longer??? as in 1st gear runs till 20mph, etc...

You will have to modify the ECU for that.
Maybe there is a reason Honda designed the tranny to shift at an earlier RPM range.

Or you could just press the gas down a bit harder to keep the car in that gear.

say it with me now... accords are not for racing.....

and again...

....accords are not for racing....

now lets try a new one...

automatics are not for racing....

repeat as necessary until your problem is fixed

::::
you can do that i believe with a chipped ecu/ engine managment like hondata or whatever, but why? it's an automatic, it knows what is good for itself, "let is sit and put problem done"

I'd like to do the same but for Civic and my purpose of that is opposit. when I go 25 m/h RPM stays at 2000. It seems to my to high and it doesn't shift on 3 gear unless I accelerate it up to 30 m/h. So i want to move a shift point from 2 to 3 a litle bid down.

If thats how you car came stock. Than why would you want to change? Don you trust these Honda Engineers?

Do you think by changing shift points that will not cause another problem?
If you want to change shift points I'd get a manual transmission.

Once it reaches 30 m/h it shifts to third gear. After that if I go down to 20 m/h
it stays in third gear. I guess it doesn't hurt anything if it doesn't shift back to second between 20 and 30 m/h. Plus I'm not sure if it was always like that.
About three years ago tranny was power flushed. I have a feeling that it does this after that flush.

Switch to manual is a strong point and I like this idea. It means to sell this car and buy another one. I don't want to sell it because I put much effort to keep this car reliable. If I buy another car it either more money to put at a purchase or later for repairs.

Well the cost to install a tranny onto a manual car wouldnt be that much compared to buying another car thats 5spd.

I would assume a manual tranny will cost around 800
parts and ECU say another 300, and labor is where its going to get you.

So I would assume no more than 1500-2000 for the swap....( Just a guess )

What the-- maybe Accord autos are not for racing, but you have to be kidding saying autos are not for racing in general. Many muscle cars with Autos will take 5spds when done right..

True. I have seen an automatic 8 second supra among others but racing with the already weak Honda automatic transmission is a recipe for disaster.

Honda Auto trannys are a joke
they break down with abuse, its a known fact so just gotta accept the truth
