check engine light with an attitude

I agree witht the gas cap. If you fill your car with your car running or not tight enough and it doesn't get that pressure in the tank the engine light will come on. The code needs deleted in the computer because it will always come on.

"stealership" as in when i had the engine code retrieved and coded a tranny sensor replaced and two weeks after another code pops up which may be the fule injectors. no thanks. to be honest i loved my 98, but after countless repairs, clear coat wearing off, tranny slipping and burping out tranny fluid at 113k, i am not a bank.

So you expect that we should see into the future to make sure your car won't break and cost you more money??
Seriously if you can't afford a honda go buy a Kia, i hear they have a sweet 10 yr warrenty for ppl that can't afford to fix their cars.

your correct.. i could afford a honda, but after the warranty, i couldn't afford to fix it any longer. couldn't afford a new tranny, paint job ( clear coat off the roof and front driver door) door and window switches on driver side sometimes didn't work, water in the rear tail lights, gas door cable (i fixed that) clunky sway bar bushings.. bought the parts to replaced, but
traded the 98 for an 05 camry..

Seriously I have several older 90ish Hondas, I know the parts aren't as cheap as small block chevy parts at autozone but when you put those high priced parts on the car goes another 150k....I think it's worth it.

Hondatech,
I agree 110 percent. i have a 96 accord lx coupe 5speed w/185k mile and a toyota previa at 256k miles. both are strong and start up instantly. the 96 cord will probably need a new clutch this year. With internet i can now surf for oem parts for all cars. My 98 just really dissapointed me with the paint and transmission issue. I couldn't afford to keep funding her and also to add the rusting in the hood next to the front headlights..
Thanks

97 and older accord are the better hondas.
