Why would you do that to such a beautiful car but hey to each its own.

 

putting an accord through mud is fun!!!! I love to drive and enjoy my car. I autocross it and overall make it work on the streets. I take it to the dirtroads to slide around quite often, but this was my first time in mud. Even more fun to slide through mud. The cleanup does suck, but it can't be toooo bad for the car.

 

Wow. No. You are not hanging even close with Jeeps off the gravel road. I know its fun to tear up a dirt road every now and then, but you get some thick mud and you are done. Yeah, any car thats moving and has wide enough tires to support the car without sinking completely, but narrow enough to get enough traction to keep you from becoming a gutterball in the ditch along the road will handle light mud. Im talking anything....from Geo metros to top of the line BMWs. But as the former owner of a Jeep Cherokee that practiced off road driving religiously... you can handle the WORST nature has to offer.... In 2 wheel drive. I would go through 2 feet of water mud, over trees and uphill in 12 inch mud.... without ever engaging the transfer case. Keep you fingers loose on the steering wheel, use as much gas as necessary, and keep moderate speed, and you can loose a very ON ROAD vechicle such as an accord in 10 feet. Accords were never made for anything of the sort, and anyone that couldnt keep up in a 2wd jeep was either asleep, drunk, or certifiably retarded. Have fun, but dont be stupid.

 

Try driving your XJ in 36" of mud in 2WD....hell, even 4WD didn't help me.

Take it from me guys, I have experience.

DO NOT MESS WITH MUD MUD KILLS! Sure it may be fun but the novelty runs out quick. It seems harmless cause its relatively easy to wash off but from my own personal experience in the instance pictured above:

1.) I blew my clutch
2.) Needed a new starter
3.) A/C clutch assembly and bearing were shot

2 and 3 were covered under warranty but the clutch wasn't. Its not worth it, mud gets inside shit and slowly kills mechanics of your car...

I can't imagine what it'll do to a Honda, something thats not meant to be driven in any sort of mud.

 

Chill dude!! Its all fun and games. I'm not saying my car can outdo a jeep in any offroad battle. Simply my car handled better on mud then the jeep which is to be expected since I have fwd and a low cent of gravity. Shit I outhandle the jeep on pavement then why wouldn't i in mud. So i'm just joking around comparing a jeep to an accord I hope you see the sarcasm there.

 

It's because of the front wheel drive, you have better traction due to the engine weight up front.

 

No offense mang but that statement is laughable. Sure, a Jeep isn' meant to "handle" on pavement in a sporty manner. But to say that in the same manner an Accord would handle mud better is assonite.

FWD and lower center of gravity have nothing to do with mud. Either way the weight is in the front of the vehicle, and when in 4WD...well its self-explanatory. I hope you can self-explain it to yourself.
