Dont know if this is normal but, recently , I was looking at my temp gauge, and after about 5 minutes of driving the gauge goes from cold to about half way up where the center line is. Its not exactly at that point, It more like it goes up 40 %. Is this normal and does it get hot that quick? I know if you go on the highway, its normal.

 

yep, I believe it's normal. My accord does the same thing. Cars these days heat up pretty fast, don't really need to do any 10 min warm up times in the mornings.

 

My car year is a 96, what year is yours?

 

My 94 does the same.... goes up to about 40% after 2 minutes or so

My friends 96 does the same too... i think its just a honda thing

Mine goes up 1/4 inch below center mark which its been like that since new
