Default Grip

I just wanted some feedback on who you guys think makes the best suspension/suspension components from experience for the 94-97 Accord, and Im talking about autoX status but still streetable. What do you like or don't like?

*Full Coilover Systems

*Swaybars
*Strut Tower Bars
*lower tie Bars
*etc.

The single most factor determining grip isn't on your list...tires. Compound, width, psi.

But all the rest on the list are going to make a difference. They are pretty much going to make the most difference in the order you listed there. They are all going to make a difference in the amount of body roll, balance, rotation, rigidity, etc...but ultimately the amount of grip will be limited by the tires.

You can put all those mods on your car and it'll still be very streetable as long as the spring rates aren't too wild.

Do you have any suspension modifications at this point?

Nah, just bought the car, but since I wan't to drop it already, I wan't to do it right, so basically I want to know what setups are out there that have worked good already & the ones that suck. & yes tires are a must, but I was more focused on the suspension part of it first.

if your going to go full coilover then I'd recommend the Tein SS, Tein Basics, or Apexi full coilovers. the auto-x guys seem to like the Apexi more then the Tein, its a stiffer ride.
as for shock/spring combos, some of the best combos are the Eibach pro-kit, Neuspeed, H&R for springs. for shocks Koni yellows are the best you can get.

the ST rear may rub against an aftermarket exhaust. the alternative is a progress sway

i have tein ss and u are righ the Apexi are better for auto x. the tein ss are great but apexi is the best fit they are stiffer than the tein ss even if u have the tein ss set stiff to the max. i have to say the tein ss combine with sway bars is really incredible the handling and how confortable u can set them. the streets are bad here so i keep it soft but when i am chilling i just set both front and back stiff and now with the sway bar i got it makes a good combination. this is the best thing i have ever invest n my car. they said good things come to those who wait so i waited and save hehe

i dont know if i wasted my money to be honest. my mods list includes koni yellow w/ eibach pro-kit, suspension techniques front & rear sway bars, neuspeed front strut bar, dc sports rear strut bar, and 17 inch enkei rims with 225 45 17 nitto 450 tires. i have to take this mountain to get to pennstate and i tried *testing* out the combo and i was kinda disapointed. dont get me wrong, its an improvement, but not to what i had hoped for. i guess stock s2000 and rsx can handle just as good as me.. and i thought all these parts can make me better than them. after all... my car was based on a suspension design from over 10 years ago... its a 94 honda accord ex coupe.

I've got to say adding a rear sway with the Tein SS really makes for a fun ride. I'm with you

that's surprising that you don't think the handling is that improved., I'd figure that would be a pretty fun ride in the twisties. also a thing to consider is that our cars are way heavier than an RSX or S2000 and their weight distribution is better as well. I bet your car can out handle most of the cars on the road. One of my favorite things to do is taking a wide off ramp at 80 and comming up fast on another car, it always freaks them out. of course I brake at a distance that is safe.

edit* I forgot to ask, what type of tires are you running. that could make a world of difference. This summer I got a set of AVS ES100s and my grip is amazing now as compared to the crappy Nankangs I had.

I wish I had Tein, I have Tockio shocks with Tanabe springs, ingalls camber kit, and Dc sports front strut tower bar.

Makes for a nice ride for me only thing that would be nice is a rear lower tie bar and upper strut tower bar

Don't forget the good rubbers on your rims to go with your set up. I'm happy with my 2nd pair of Kumho Escta supra 205/45/17 Z 88w
