I'm just trying to figure out how much I'll need to bring the rear wheel in so it won't rub. with the mini-tub i'll be able drive with the rear wheels tucked. i hate widebody kits, they look like crap. I wanna keep the body stock, just modify the suspension..
I have no idea where to start with this one! You are gonna hack up your car to fit staggered rear wheels on a FWD car?

Make sure you think about this one for a while before cutting anything haha.

IMO you'd be crazy to attempt this.

yeah, theres no reason for that wide of a rear wheel on a front drive car... no reason at all.

yeah, there no reason to do anything to a car but you do it anyway. I see all these front wheel drive cars in super street and import tuner magazine's that have 9-10" wide rims on the back with a huge widebodykit. thats too easy, just throw a widebodykit on to hide the tire width. Its going to be for looks and a showcase for my custom shop. i wanna show of what i can do. I'm going to have coil-overs mounted horizontally in the trunk and custom made control arms. I've done some tubbing in street rods and some bodydropped trucks so this shouldn't be too confusing to do. I may have to 8.5 rim width instead of a 9.5 but either way it will be tucked in.

Does anybody know if these wheels will fit on a '97 LX V6? I know the '97 only has a 4 bolt lug, but I think I can get an adaptor for that - correct me if I'm wrong. But what about the offset??

I have +42mm off set 18x7.5 on my Coupe and they just fit.
I wouldn't go a mm further.

As far as fitting the 04-05 Acura TL wheels to a 5th generation Accord, my girlfriend and I are in the process of converting to 5-lugs to use the TL wheels. The TL wheels offer several distinct advantages. First, at 17x8, they're wider than any readily available 17" 4-lug wheels. And with the offset of +45 mm, they should fit fine on most 5-lug Honda/Acura products. As far as centercaps are concerned, ones from an 04 Element or CR-V should work fine. Of course the 5-lug conversion to a 5th or 4th generation Accord isn't the cheapest thing to do, the final result is quite nice. The car we're converting is a 1997 Accord LX, so factory 10" front discs and drums in the rear. In the conversion process, the car receives 11" front brakes (courtesy of the 1st gen Odyssey) and the standard size rear discs (Accord EX spindles/calipers with 5th gen Prelude hubs and rotors.) We'll be using an asian-spec Power brake booster (much larger than any booster I've been in the U.S.) with matching M/C, 4040 prop valve, and 225/45-17s to round out the package.
