quick CARB question

holy misinformation batman!
b16 has no equivalent? what about b16 del sol's and SI's.
f23 and h23 litres? they are both 2.3 hence f23 and h23
the h23a vtec is obd2 and will most likely also have the immobolizer on the ecu.
k series come from rsx and tsx.
dohc head on a sohc block will fail as well.
if your trying to pass a jdm motor the 'legal' way through the BAR ref and all that BS it will take you forever and cost more money than just paying a hole in the wall smog place some cash under the table.

What are you talking about. Their isnt any misinformation. The b16a1 doesnt have any USDM equiv. But if you can show me one, id be glad to shut my mouth. I mean, dont get me wrong, i know that there is a equiv. to the b16a2, a4 but not the a1.... But i do appreciate how you jump in a call bullshit, when infact youre the one bullshitting.
Bubbrubb out.

misinformation... k series come from rsx and tsx not s2k. f23 and h23 have the same litres and probably very similar cc's.
my friend has a jdm b16a sir2 in his hatch and passes smog fine. he was asked once about his engine and he told them it was a del sol si motor. they could give a flying f*ck if it was an a1, a2, a3, a4 as long as its passes the visual, the sniffer test, the gas cap pressure test, timing, no CELs etc... and everything looks like it belongs. slipping a few extra bucks never hurts. my cousin has a b18c5 in a hatch and doesnt even have to bring his car to pass smog, just needs to bring a fat wallet. now with obd2 cars like accordhybrid's its a whole different story and more difficult with the obd2 scan port.
if worry about passing smog is keeping you from swaping, turboing, building your motor, etc.. then you should just leave your car stock and buy something fast out of the box.
openloop motorsports has tried to get their h22 accords thru ref a few times and all been shot down. going through the ref inspection is a trap cuz once you do go through the ref and you fail you car wont be able to be register the car until you bring it back to the ref and pass the inspection. better off just keeping it away from the BAR and getting it passed by other means.
