I JUST replaced: timing belt, timing tensioner, water pump, some seals, and some other damn belt for like $350 parts shipped, labor labored.

I was thinking about changing out the timing belt/water pump/seals myself, but there are too many bad things that could happen. Plus with something so serious, id rather trust a pro then try it myself...but yeah, i think im just gonna get my timing belt/water pump/seals/new alternator and call it a day.... Anyone know where to get a cheap/used alternator for a '00 accord coupe? I need a higher voltage then the stock one (im pretty sure my amp/audio killed my last one)

I agree..I just, just had that stuff done (timing belt, water pump, drive belt) and it was $600. I was at 60K and wanted to have the belt done "just in case". They did say that as long as the timing belt was off, the other stuff was just the $ for parts, really. I had it done where I have all my work done and that is a local shop that specializes in Imports. The dealer quoted $600 for just the timing belt. On a side note, a day after having it done, I ran into a friend who owns an "import tuning" shop and told me his mechaninc could have done it for half. So, I guess it just depends on who you know!! My alternator, by the way, went out about two months ago and it was around $250 for that. When it rains, it pours...
