Default 92' accord hood won't pop open?

I parked my accord with 192k on it back in May, and haven't touched in since. Now I'm trying to get it ready for winter, so the lude can go in storage, but I can't get the hood popped open. The latch on the inside in very "sticky" when pulled but pulls back all the way. The hood doesn't pop up though, so i can't get my hands in under the front to release the latch the rest of the way. I messed with it for about 10 minutes poking a screw driver around in there but can't get the latch unhooked? What am i to do?

im guessing, the hood cable just got weak over time, and might have stretched it.

my 97 is like this..when i pull the hood it doesn't pop open..but then i just grab wherever i can and pull it up myself..the reason is that when you let your car sit, the seals start to get sticky...and it keeps the hood down...(just like how you don't open your doors for a while they are sorta sticky and you have to pull on them to get them open)..then i just hit the latch and voila!

Thats kinda what I thought too. The problem is that I have no where to grab from, except the extreme edeges of the hood. I'm starting to think that someone may have sat on the hood, etc. and bent it down.
