Ok the 97accordlx has been wrecked before and the airbags are nomore. the srs light stays on. then one day while driving the car just shut off. the mechanic said two things: i may need a new ignition, and that it might have something to do with the airbags not being in. i wanna hear from yall before i do anything.

 

I had this problem with my '90... It was the ingnition. Just went out like a light.... So, I'd say trust the mechanic on the ignition part... As far as the airbags...man, just be sure to at least wear your seatbelt!

 

so willl getting a new ignition improve the cars performance also?

 

Well, I'm not even talkin' performance when I mention that. Someone else might chime in on that question... I'm just sayin' that you need it replaced in order for it to run! LOL... I'm just testifying to the fact that I had the same problem ONCE in my '90... I can't remember how much it was to fix, but it just went out just like yours did...

 

the ignition is under recall. thats ur problem.

take your car to honda and they will fix it free.
