New Accord owner.....exhaust advice needed
I know this has probably been asked a billion times before, but I couldn't find any threads that address my exact situation. Humor me.
I just bought a '99 Accord EX V6. I am interested in an aftermarket exhaust system. So far, everything I have looked at looks like a coffee can. I want something more natural and reserved looking--like 3 inch pipes. I also hate exhausts that sound like giant buzz bombs. I want something that is subtle and deep.
At this point, from what I've been able to tell, I like the Magnaflow the best. Anyone have any experience with these? Any pictures? How do they sound? Are there any others that would qualify for what I am looking for?
Thanks a lot,
Brett

I checked out the Comptech site, and all they had for the 98-02 V6 was an axle back system....for a whopping $600..... I am interested in a cat-back system. Do they make these for the 6th gen or not?
Nittany, do you have the Magnas? What do they sound like?

i have mine on a 4cyl, but they are the v6 setup durring hard accelleration the exhaust gives a nice growl, but when your rinning on the highway at cruzing speeds and are still on the gas the exhaust is really quiet, it only gets loud when you step on it.

i have a 99 ex v6 sedan as well and i've been looking for these parts for a while.
there are a good mount of choices you can go with. Dual Muffler: HKS sport, Magnaflow, GReddy SP2, Apexi WorldSport2 (you can go with coupe) and some tanabe ones. single muffler: Apexi WorldSport2.
i think i will go with GReddy SP2 or HKS Sport. people say Apexi WS2 is too quiet...but i'm not sure GReddy or HKS sport would be too loud or not, at least they would make you feel some differences from the stock sound.

I would consider the Comptech exhaust. Comptech makes some of the most high quality stuff out there. The difference between an axle back and cat back will not make much of a difference on a N/A mildly modded car. Magnaflow just looked like cheap shit to me. Go with the Comptech and I promise you won't regret it.
