You may want to look into converting your read drums to disk brakes, I know its possible to do on the 5th gen...so would asume the same for the 6th gen.
and your goning to want to change your pads too...

Gripping was a serious issue with the AEM pads, and dust was to a minimum compared to Axxis, but I prefer Axxis.

4-97 2/4dr 4cyl TENZO FRONT BRAKE ROTOR KIT (BLUE)
Upgrade those stock brakes with a set of these 12 inch Tenzo units. With an average 20-percent larger surface area, these brakes can reduce a vehicle's stopping distance while reducing pedal effort. Each rotor is slotted and cross-drilled to ensure maximum heat dissipation for reliable, consistent braking. CNC-machined billet aluminum rotor hats diminishes the rotor's tendency to cup under extreme prolonged use and reduces the overall weight of the rotor when compared to cast versions. Each kit includes two 12" rotors, caliper repositioning brackets, premium grade aircraft-quality hardware and instructions. 16" or larger wheels required.
