according to the link above.

Coupes and Sedan's weigh in at 2855, and wagons weigh in at 3053

Preludes ... http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...ex.cfm/id/2265 wiegh in at 2954..

So.... whoever said an accord weighs 4000lbs is a fvking idiot. I'm sorry but learn to do better research bud. The only Honda I see capable of weighing over 4,000lbs is an oddessy.
I always knew my car was under 3000, just needed info to back it up, and oh yea, I believe all that shiz is in a Chilton's manual as well...

My friend's '82 Camaro Z28 weighs 2 tons and that thing is solid metal, there is no way that a '97 Accord is going to weigh two tons, not at all possible. And no, I don't care what the Honda design specs are, they are obviously wrong.

In the door of my car the sticker says something like 3900 lbs. I know that is not right. Why does it say that? Oh my car is a Sedan SE

GVWR (Gross vehicle weight rating) is usually posted on the driver's side door sill - along with other info like the color code, tire size, etc. My 6G EX 2.4L is over 4k (4080lbs), it wouldn't surprise me to see 5Gs well over 3K.

My last a car (Ford Probe SE 4-cyl) weighed in at a hefty 3600lbs - and that was a small car - can't imagine what the V6/GT weighed in at.

4000 is plausible for GVWR.
GVWR=car + max. load of occupants & luggage.
"Curb Weight" is what you should look at when comparing cars.

that is not true unless the accord is an dx or lx model it is probably lighter, but not by much. if you have ex model accord you are about the same weight or heavier than a prelude. besides it takes ~100lbs to notice .1 in the 1/4 mile. it really depends on the driver.

preludes are heavy compared to civics and tegs not accords.

and that means what?? were the mods equal? was it a base lude or the SH? same driver in both cars? stock or aftermarker rims? how close was the race? also most H22 swaps into accords are JDM motors which make a tad better power. if both cars were on stock rims and equal mods with the same driver i bet it would be pretty damn close.
