I just purchased a 1993 Accord EX with an automatic trans as a backup/project car, whenever I shift from park into reverse the car seems to
shudder and vibrate, it also does it in drive but to a much lesser degree. The motor idles smoothly and runs great its just from park i get this vibration, could it be the motor mounts or trans mount thats worn out or broken, is so what can I expect to pay for repair - any advice from the 4gen owners would be welcome

 

sounds like the motor mount/ Tranny motor mount.

 

My front mount was toast. I replaced it and the right side mount and it helped about 50%. Much better. WAS going to change the tranny also but the company sent me a part with the mounting hole 15mm off. Going to exchange it and try that also.
Just to mention difference of a 180,000 mile rt mount and a new: When removing the bottom plate of the old on my bench vise I could twist the mount to the max. Not on the new one.
