Default Starter problem...I think

well, this pisses me off.

ive had a couple of honda's and they have all been wonderful cars! but this accord seems to have a huge run of problems. None of them were really major, but still problems none the less.

So today I went to start my car and i quote the car *click* and thats it, no turn over, just a click. So i got out and beat the sylinoid (sp?) w/ my hammer (more to let out aggression than to try to fix the problem) , still nothing... luckally after about ten tries, it decides to start and let me get home, only to see that another starter will cost me like $150! man, i dont have money for this right now... but i dont see what else it could be..

I am going to check the battery voltage now, i hope its the battery.. but i know it's not...

if anyone has any suggestions at what could be wrong, please help.. if not, i guess il have to bum a ride and go pawn my L5 and amp's so i can get to work on mon... ( i am sooo pissed off right now)

thanx for any help guys

sounds like your starter...

btw, it doesn't cost $150..atleast not for me..wen my starter went out

most mechanic or shop do a trade in. (i traded mines in and got a another one for $60) but maybe if going to the dealership..that'a different story. but since they offer me a 1 year warranty i was satisfy ....good luck..

yea, it looks like it depend on where you go and what the core charge is... i cant get a good reading off my multi meter for the battery, but i think it is the meter thats broke...il take it to discount and have them check it anyway....

thanx\Better Bob

make sure its not a simpler(in terms of cheaper price) problem like a main relay or a bad distributor.

Main relay or distributor CAN NOT prevent the starter from cranking the engine.
