Default Tiny AEM vacuum filter

If you lose it, what can you use to replace it?

Are you talking about a breather filter?? one that people put on their valve cover and totally mess up the PCV system? or are you talking about the intake?

I'm talking about the little black filter that AEM includes with their intake; and you're supposed to stick in the end of one of the vacuum tubes (located behind the fuel rail.. I believe the tube runs into the intake mannie). I would like to know if anyone has replaced this with some other type of filter material. And if so, what type.

I believe that he is saying that it does not allow for the oil in the valve cover to pass though that tube and intake the intake to get burned off and so that means that is it must go into the PCV valve

Well, putting anything in place of the pcv valve seems assinine.... it's there for a reason (positive crankcase ventilation). Do people really do that?? h:

Anyway, so how 'bout that filter? So far I have "replace with sponge". Anyone else replaced this thing?

The only thing that goes in the pcv valve hole is a pcv filter.

The breather I'm talking about,.. is the one by the air intake.

Is that bad to put a regular breather filter by the intake??

No, that won't hurt it, as long as you keep the air coming in filtered I'd think it would be fine. Instead of having your air filter give it clean air you're putting that little breather filter on. You're not really changing anything so it's cool.
