Default need new wheel bearing.. is it dangerous to drive?

ok. it seems that one of my REAR wheel bearing is toast and i need a new one. that is what is causing my whole rim/wheel to wobble. i just wanted to know if it is dangherous to drive about 200 miles with this problem. i have already been driving it like this for 1 1/2 months and now im worried because i didnt know it was this serious. i initially just thought it was my sway bar hitting something. i am in college right now and home is about 200 miles away, i only know shops there, the ones here are owned by a bunch of hicks. h:

I had the same thing happen to me. I drove around on it for a while too before getting the problem checked out to find that it was the bearing. The first mechanic I took it to (didn't let do the work) said that it was dangerous to drive on and didn't know how it was still holding up so I just drove it when absolutely needed until I took it to my regular mechanic days later.

ive already been driving with it for 1 1/2 months.. close to 2 months and i have made about 2 trips back to my home (200 miles each way) so i guess ive been driving it for about 2000 miles. i just thought it was my sway bar. is everyone sure that its going to be ok and the wheel wont fall off or anything? i want to drive back home (another 200 miles) and get it fixed. the guy at the shop i took it to here said it was dangerous and gave my all these bullshit scenarios to pressure me into getting the work done for $300. for a ****ing wheel bearing...

I'd get it fixed or atleast checked out by one of the tech at honda dealer or somewere.
It sould make some wierd noise? My friend's car made some "air-plane" landing sounds when his was all messed up. and threw off his aligment and mis-worned the tires on all 4 pairs.

yes... air plane sounds do occur, if you have any machanical inclinations you should be able to replace it your self, i went to a junk yard had hit take off the wheel hub, with rotor for $40 went home and replaced the hub, because its actually the hub spindle that is broke, with a bearing inside and you ahve to repace whole hub assembly, or at least thats how i did it... and although it was a bitch it only took like 7 hours
