ok I am back. This is what I have come across, can I use a Prelude 92-96 VTEC OBD2 Manual Transmission ECU for my car. Its Ecu code reads 37820-P5M, is this correct. Also am I correct in saying that I can not use a 97+ ecu cause of the immobilizer shit. Please can someone get back to me thanks

no that is not correct
a p5m is a 97+ ecu
if you want to stay obd2 without the immobilizer you can ONLY use a 1996 p13 which is obd2. 92-95 p13s are obd1.

you can use the P5M 97+ Ecu you just need to hook up the immobilizer I'm doing this swap in my 94 obd1-> obd2 I reprogramed the immobilizer unit to match my keys and added the learn (red) key to my unit as it didn't come with any keys it starts and runs my f22b motor in the car with the CE light on of course to test the computer and wireing out .. now I just have to get my motor in ...but if you use the P5m you need the keyring from the 97+ lude the immobilizer unit and the ecu + the key from the same car then you can zip tie the key to the ring and your set if not you need a new immobilizer unit as you need 1 learned key and the red learn key for the dealer to be able to add keys to the immobilizer and to write the immobilizer unit code to the ECU unless you know how to hack the honda type 1 immobilizer system ..it took me 2 years to be able to figure out how the system works and to program keys

I have an H22A4 in my 94 Accord....it goes 13.9 in the 1/4 and there was no issue putting it in the car at all....aside from the usual little things.

ATTS is only found in the automatic models anyways and all you have to do to get rid of it is swap the transmissions for a nonATTS tranny

The myth of OBD1 vs OBD2 is just that and if you will notice many racers are beginning to prefer the OBD2 stup to the OBD1

Why is that? Why do they want OBD2? BTW I have an SH block in my accord and I used it with a stock H22 tranny

Used to be OBD1 was more tuning friendly because people developed to it. Now the options are wide open and OBD2 engines are just as easy to tune for fuel/air maps as an OBD1 engine.

Most the reasoning behind the OBD1 preference was simply convenience of the times...things change and from what I know it is actually a very strong platform to build on. I have OBD1 so I cannot attest to this fully but I have seen many kickass OBD2 based vehicles both in pro ranks and amateur level racing.

Well I have seen though that most people don't offer tuning problems for teh OBD2a ecu's but on the K-series ecu they are all over those ecu with programing. What is the difference between 96+ ecu's and the new K series ecu's.
