Default First experience with body work...

So I decided to do some body work yesterday. I decided that since I didn't like the way my caulking looked on my trunk from removing the HONDA badge, I'd do it over with some Bondo and repaint the area. It didn't go QUITE how I wanted it, but it's not bad for a first time (in my opinion). Like I said in the subject...FIRST TIME DOING ANY BODY WORK!!! Don't be too harsh on me.

From about 5 feet away. Looks ok:

Fairly close-up. Look in the area where the badge would be. You can see a few scre-ups:

Angle shot. Look towards the H emblem and you can see a good bit of over spray:

Gotta work on getting the clear on smoother, also, you ought to invest in a buffer, you'd be able to buff that dullness up to a shine...wouldnt stand out as much...

For your first time, it's not bad bro. You're braver than me! I think the imperfections are easily fixed w/a little sanding/body filler. As for the texture/overspray, that's what color/wet sanding is for Handle it bro, looks good!

but not bad nemo, all it takes is practice... currently shaving off my embelms and my friends. we have been working on my friends "H" for about 3 weeks, lol. finally got the clear coat on today but u can see whr it is masked off. gonna try again 2morrow. as for my embelms i have put bondo and sealed up the holes with jb weld/spot putty. gonna use some more bondo to smooth out ssurface and gonna primer my whole trunk since i dont feel like painting it...

I haven't cleared yet actually...that's just the gloss off of the "gloss black" And I was actually considering a buffer. I got some 3M stuff that's supposed to restore shine. That'll come out of the package in a couple weeks.

I was thinking about it, but the damn weather is gonna be shitty this weekend. Rain on Sat & Sund (the two days I'd work on it). Oh well, it isn't TOO noticable yet!

Yeah...thought I could "blend" it more than I really could! It's a learning experience, and I've learned ALOT!

By the way guys, my name's Wade if you don't want to call me by the name of a small animated fish anymore.

I've heard about that stuff...what does it actually do? A friend told me not to use it but never really filled me in on the details.

EDIT: Is it wrong to be sitting up at 3 AM playing Warcraft 3 and wanting to work on your car? :a:
