I have a 1995 accord.

Does a place like autozone do a free diagnostic check, I really dont want to take it to a dealer cause they will charge an hour's worth of work. I think the cable that runs inside the car to my temp knob came loose because its felt funny when turning the knob, Im gonna take take apart the car to get to the ac knob panel today.

Some places claim to run diagnositics for like $29.99, I don't know what that involves, but they need to run a refrigerant identifier (makes sure no contaminated refrigerants are in the system), install high and low side pressure gauges and compare readings to stock data (this can sometimes tell you if you are low on charge or if you have a restriction somewhere in your system), and finally a good leak check should be in order. Shop around town, actually I recommend one place in town, even more knowledgable than the dealer I'd like to think...Polar Bear A/C...don't know how much they cost, but they do excellent work I hear.

I'd check for you, but you'd have to wait something like two months at the very least.

Hey--

Sorry for the late reply, internet has been down. Anyways the part number 1 that you have been telling me about and that I have been messing with seems to be broken. The part that the wire loops around to is held to part 1 by a screw. Unknowningly I pushed that lever to far and is rounded off the plastic part on number one that holds the lever that the wire loops on to. You can basically spin it around all day if you wanted to. So I strongly think that I didnt even have a chance to close that valve since the plastic part is rounded. Can you find out how much part number 1 sells for at honda. I think I need to get this fixed first before I start thinking theres other probelms.

Thanks for your time.

:lmao: hehe...part #1 is called a heater valve, or coolant valve. I guess I should've mentioned that valve is fragile and you need to be gentle when turn it. Make sure you properly bleed your coolant system when replacing that valve. It's about $40 from the dealer, you have PM by the way.

Damn!!!!!! This is not good, welll after a hella long time, I finally got around to installing the heater control valve. It was a bitch to do, a lot of crap spilled out, well not a lot but it was a bitch. But I got it put back in, brand new.

I went to start the car, and turned the ac on. And nothing..... still no cold air. Went to look under the hood while the car was on. The two fans, none of those fans are spinning, and when I was pressing the ac button, I didnt hear any type of engagement I beleive. Arent one of the fans supposed to turn on with the ac?
