Koni Red Question! Somewhat Urgent
Hi all.. I re-did my suspension and put on one new koni red up front to replace the blown one that a wank seller gave to me.. and also replaced the crappy intrax springs with Eibach Sportlines (new).
Okay, so the rear is tucking, moreso on the left side but that's not my major concern.. the concern is that the front looks stock. It's visible in all aspects, the car is so much higher in the front.
I know Koni reds have some adjustable perch option, but I didn't see anything of that nature when they were removed (heard you had to remove strut from car to adjust).. the metal plate that the strut sits on however (the front two only) looks like it might fit two ways, upside down and rightside up, one being cupped inward and the other beveling more outward.
Is this the adjustable perch? Can I flip this plate so the spring is sitting cupped in to achieve a normal sportline drop?
Rarely hear posts about koni reds ;(

Please check to see if the part number on the sportlines is a V6 or i4 spring. I was sold sportline v6's when I asked for i4 and it looked like you described. The back was low but the front didn't budge much. Luckily Nopi paid for the reinstall of the springs.

Dunno.. it was from Tirerack.com, and the product showed up after I had already selected my vehicle.. so I think I got the right one. I will check part #'s tho.
But..does anyone have anymore info on perch and any other adjsutable parts of a koni red strut / how to?
Thanks

Your Koni's should have had directions about the perch.
Do you have 2 perch lines on the shock tube? If so the lower line should lower the front 25mm.
I thought reds were discontinued? I got yellows for the price of reds at shox.com.

Hmm, I didn't notice two 'lines' or anything for the plate the spring sits on to go. Just right side up and upside down, both had a notch for the spring to sit on/in, but one way looked like it'd cup the spring and the other beveled outward. Used the beveled one..
But are the rears even adjustable? I didn't notice the plate being able to be flipped or anything on the rears and assumed they were non-adjustable.
Thanks

best thing to check is the part number printed on the front springs. If the perch can go both ways it does seem like u used the higher of the two options. I would still check the # before tearing ur work apart.
