you can't mate a F23 5sp tranny with the J30 V6 motor.

your best bet is to go turbo and swap it to 5sp when the auto blows or stop what your doing and buy something else that already has power.

The CL-S engine with 6spd would fit nicely in our 6th gens...might be very exspensive though...but it sure iss a helluva lotta fun to drive!
how much would one of those cost? And do you really think it would fit? cuz i might hafta drop one of dose in my shit.

Ok you have a 4cylinder 5th gen and want to put a 7th gen V6 into it??

Not gonna happen any time soon...seriously. Take a look at the 5th gen V6 vs the 5th gen I4 and tell me the difference...its pretty easy really the dimensions are different.

I am not gonna say it can't be done but its gonna cost you a lot more money than you probably are going to want to spend from the sounds of your questioning.

*edit* I thought you said 5th gen but the same applies to the 6th gen as well.

I have not a clue how much it would cost. That motor was rated at 265hp. These are all assumptions. Best way would be H22 or turbo.

The big problem that I see with trying to drop a V6 in a 5th gen or 6th gen ( correct me if I am wrong) none of the engine mounts line up for starters. So you would be re-welding engine mounts. Also the problem I see with the 03 6sp is that the tranny itself is bigger then a standard 5sp. I don't know to much about the 6th gen engine bay but I don't think without quit a bit of modifacation that you could stuff the 6sp tranny in there and not only that isn't the engine set in the 03 different then the rest of the gen's, seems somewhere I read that. Your best bet is if you want a lot of power get something new. If you want a moderate gain do the H22. The H22 will probably be your cheapest bet.

Okay, what about the h23a. Wouldnt that be just as fast as the H22, but its an accord engine so it wouldnt be as much work to get in.

Edit: Just got off the phone with my friend in san diego. Hes telling me that i can drop a 300z engine in my shit. IS this true? he says people do it alot in civics....

Hahaha 300z engine...no it won't work.

Look your options are the following in order of power output in stock form:

H22 (DOHC Vtec)
H23 (DOHC no vtec)
F20b (DOHC vtec?? don't bother since it is hard to find parts and diagrams for it.)
F23 (SOHC VTEC and non VTEC)
F22 (SOHC VTEC and non VTEC)

Those are really the only viable offers you have for your car. Now since you are 6th gen I think the F20 is completely out of the question because of the years available (must be same year or newer engine as car).

Now for the love of god quit talkin all crazy unles you want to spend some seriously mad loot for a one off swap.

Wait, no he said a sr20 engine, but anyways. What about putting a h22 head ona f23a1 block like people have been doing here -- http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=776837&page=1 wouldnt that give me some gain in HP, and also let me rev the shit outta my motor

Edit: that would make my car DOHC instead of SOHC (i like saying that, doh-cee, and soo-c )

h23 comes from ludes, the h23a dohc VTEC comes from an accord but the euro wagon accord.

just boost your f23 5spd.. and call it a day and stop asking all these ridiculous questions. sure any motor can be put in any car but its all about the money. the most feasable SWAP would probably be an h22 but IMO the best thing to do it just get a turbo kit for your f23.

Thats the forst I have heard of it being done. Since you know so much about cars (sarcasm) I am sure it will be a breeze to do too. If you have a shop do it I am sure it will be really cheap too.

Not trying to discourage you from doing it but I would wait and see how this engine does in the long haul before jumping a possible fad bandwagon that ends up costing more in the end and yielding less as a result.
