tire sizes are so f'ed up. The tread width goes by milimeters, the height by ratio of width, and the diamater is in inches. WTF?? Why isn't it just one system of measurment

I've decided on 205/50-17 because it's the closest to stock tires. It'll only throw off the speed about .4% (60.2MPH instead of 60MPH). I can live with that. Anyone else running 205's?

215/45-17 doesn't sound bad either. What would you guys choose?

Why Why Why?

The difference is acceptable, as well. (Car says 60, I'm actually doing 59.1)

Because...lots of guys run that size. It's popular for one reason... In our opinions it just looks right, handles and rides right. I don't see why you'd need any bigger on our 6th Gens.

I'm probably just tripping over nothing, I'm getting ready to order my tires:

TOYO Proxes FZ4
Tire Size: 215/45ZR17
Diameter 24.6"
Section width 8.5"
Weight 21.0 lbs .

That will fit on these rims:
Size: 17x7
Offset: 42mm
Lug pattern: 4

I just want to make sure they'll fit. Like I said I'm probably just tripping over nothing. Can anyone confirm?

I am running 215/45/17 ZR Yok AVS ES100's on a 17x7 wheel. Your offset won't matter as far as tire fitment to the wheel. You should be just fine!
