clearing out tails
OK check it out this guy emailed me asking about my tail lights. I promised him I would post instructions on how to do this. For those it will be a repeat so bear with me as well as him. Some of us just dont know everything until we've tried or acually seen it done.
Step 1
Open the truck and remove the plastic inserts right behind the tail lights. On 5th gen's it will be a turn knob, don't know about others, anywayz put those to the side.
Step 2
Remove the screws that hold the tail light onto the car, should be a 10mm not positive been awhile since i did it. Unplug the lights and the piggyback harness sending unit.
Step 3
There are two different ways to do this either way is fine but be very careful. I opted to break the amber out so I didnt have to worry about water leakage. The other way is to take a small blade go around the tail light assembly seperating the apoxy used to seal the light casing. Then simply just push the amber piece together poping it off and vola you got clears. If you go this route you will need to buy at autozone or wherever some really strong apoxy, you will want to sand off the existing apoxy so you have a good temple to adhere to. How i did it was took a needle nose small set off pliers and a punch and hammer(you could use a screw driver) and a flat head screw driver. I carefully took my time started with the punch and hammer poking holes into the amber until it broke, sometimes I used a flat head to break it loose. Then used the needle nose to get the pieces out that didnt fall out when i turned it upside down and shook out the peice.
Step 4
Reassembly everthing in the exactly opposite way the stock bulbs are clear and blink clear but not very bright so I got some bulbs that blinked brighter white with a slite blue tint to it. The choice is yours have fun, live long drive ACCORDINGLY DONE.

One clarification:
The tail light is not put together with "epoxy" nor should you put epoxy on it to seal it up.
It's a silicone based glue, and if you heat up the entire assembly to soften the glue, you can pull the two peices apart (along with cutting as you pull them apart). Then re-heat the two peices to again soften the glue, and push them back together. If you do this right and keep all the original silicone glue, you'll get a good seal and won't have to add anything. If you do need to add...use silicone based material. If you end up with condensation and need to re-open them to clean them out, and you used epoxy...you'll need new tails or be stuck with condensation.

why are u getting rid of amber blinkers? Any other color is really hard to see and especially white. I hate how new honda's have picked up on the domestic red blinkers. I know most ppl in USA don't use blinkers (at least in the south) but still for those of us that do its good to have them in visible amber. White blinker doesn't make sense to me!

Another option is colored gel bulb covers. They are a translucent, colored cap that slides over the glass of the bulb and changes the color. They dont fade and have a very rich color. They are about $1.50, ive only found them at autozone so far.
