Ok now this I find very odd.

Last night while driving home down Union tpke, a black accord coupe (98-02)
stopped next to me at the light.

Now I could hear him revving his engine as if he was cool.
So I flashed him with my strobes right before the light turned green and gunned it.

Mind it I have an Auto 4cyl and the "victim" has a 5spd which I assume 4cyl ( will explain why )

I was flying down union tpke and I could hear this accord screaming down the street after me.

I know he has an intake ( hissing sound ) and an exhaust ( visible).
My engine is completely bone stock. I mean even down to the screws that are holding down my HID ballasts.

At one point I saw his car just creeping up next to mine very slowly but he was gaining. I pressed down on the peddle a bit more and engaged VTEC.

Once that happend it seemed like a mustang pulling away from Yugo.

My question is , does the Coupe weigh that much more sedan.

With the mods I saw and heard I say he probably gained 5-7 hp, which is more than what I have.

He was not able to catch up to me and I have no clue why. I was already expecting to read his back license plate but he read mine.

I doubt it was his driving ability in shifting because with my windows all open I can hear him shift pretty quick.

Im confused, maybe he was just a really fat person. and im just cooler than him...lol.......

no way could his 5 speed manual lose to you(auto), both being 4 cylinder, if he could drive half decent. and i noticed coupes speed to be faster than the sedan, when i read those road&track/motortrend magazines. the 98-02 v6 sedan clocked slower than the 98-02 v6 coupe, i believe the sedans weigh more btw, which may contribute to that time difference.

Maybe his wasn't a Vtec. Was his an Ex, Lx or what???

if it was a coupe, it had vtec, regardless if it's 4 or 6 cylinders

I say he wasn't going 100% racing you.

I know he floored it because I could hear his VTEC engaging.
His car was an EX since I did see his sunroof tilted.

I dont floor my pedal.

how fast a car is: manual>automatic (considering same engine, and he was modded and u werent on top of it, and like i said, i saw coupes being faster than sedans in ALL the road tests times i saw in magazines), unless its a turbo supra, and the automatic is like upgraded and crap, thats where an auto is faster than a manual

I'll make sure to look for that car tonight and dog his ass watch........
We both go to the same school so if I see his car Ill make sure to tail gate him etc....lol
