I shouldn't go into details probably but I too noticed that a sedan 4cyl was faster. . . I know it wasn't a V6 (no emblem, 15" rims (at those speeds it was hard to tell. . . something like 10-20mph from top end) and no dual muffler (stock 4cyl muffler, too!). . . This was with my I/H/T, I only can guess he had a 5spd when I have an AT. . . I was betting his car was STOCK, I was kinda upset.

Well, there are a lot of things that could make his car be slower than yours.
First, him having an intake and exhaust does not mean s*t. You would be suprised( I know i was) how many people dump hundreds into the car upgrades and neglect basic tune-up. It might not sound that much but replacing burnt-out plugs will give you considerable power improvement.
Second, weight. Was your gas tank nearly empty and his full? Full tank is about 100-120 pounds in weight difference. Did he have 18-19 inch rims, which are usually 4-10 pounds heavier than stock? Was he alone or had passenger/s? May be there was a dead body in his trunk. May be he had his a/c full blast on, which drains power like shit.
