http://www.apexbenefits.biz/04_03_14no1.htm scroll down to street touring and my name is Paul Gronowski. You can get a glimps of how fast it was.

The anouncer was pretty impressed with my time in a 4dr family sedan. That last turn where u guys think the car is tipping alot was nicely executed with an e-brake my last and fastest lap. I lurned that a short pull on the e will give me a better time around corners. Of course u don't want to go sideways cause that slows u down.

As for the lean if u auto-x then u know that the cord is barely leaning over. Like schmiddy said its a tight ass turn. Some ppl actually scrape the corners of their bumpers but my suspension was resisiting lean very well. I was satissfied with the accords handling. EDIT: yeah that corner is on a slope so tilt ur head to the left a bit to see the lean LOL.

For all the auto-x guys: the only thing that pissed me off was the slow response of power steering in the slalom. Sometimes to go the other derection I had to sort of jerk the wheel to the other side because it would hesitate. Weird... Do u think it would be drivable with the entire power steering unit off?? I have 18's for daily driving and I wouldn't want it to be unbarable.

I didn't hit a single pylon WOOT

sweet pics! with more seat time you should be moving up that list in no time Anyways, how many have you done so far? I'd recommend doing as many autocrosses on crappy tires as possible, since it will help your learning curve.

I my self did my 9th autocross 2 days ago, on crappy 195/65-15 Michelin Energy MXV4s for the 2nd time. I did MUCH better this time than I did the previous time on the same crappy tires, since I could easily sense the limits of the car.

Before that I used to autocross on my 225/40-18 ES100s, and my learning curve sucked; I wasn't getting any better...

what tires did you end up getting? What wheels? I myself am looking for 16x7", preferably 7.5" wheels, and 205/55-16 Falken Azenis for auto-x only use this summer. This will happen after I've autocrossed on crappy tires 5 more time...

nope, that's an off camber turn. This is what "almost tipping over" looks like, and no, I didn't hit any cones or lose control while doing this:

Those are some no name brand 16's I had on my civic years ago when I totaled it. I was going to sell the set until i discovered auto-x. The tires I have are 205 45 yokohama parada. Seem to hold up well and the tread isn't noticably wearing down. This is only my third auto-x and the first in a real class. Before I ran Novice. My first auto-x I got 5th in novice in the rain on 18 inch rubber. That made me feel like a champ since the cars that beat me were way over my head.

Looking a that chart the cars that were faster this time around were mostly civics and tegs. My goal for the day was to knock out the SVT focuses and that i proudly did. Hopefully I will be able to compete with them the next time. I think I am getting better especially now that I have started to incorporate slight e-brake slides. I read this rally book by a former Polish world champ Sobieslaw Zasada and he mentions that a drift is the fastest way around turns. With his explanation of left foot braking and gentle e-brakes I seem to be improving.

LX4: Have u tried to use left foot braking to get ur car to slide slightly. U step on the gas and play with the break until the rear looses traction. I was able to do 90deg turns at 30mph with this technique when I had shitty front pads but I installed some AEM pads for auto-x and the left foot breaking just slowed me down. I din't have enough power to overcome my front breaks anymore. It is an awesome technique if ur breaks behave accordingly. Much more controllable than e-brake

cool, I'm thinking about 215/45-16 Azenis, which will have a smaller rolling diameter like your 205/45-16s do....

here are the results of the BMWCCA event I went to this past Sunday:

http://houston-bmwcca.com//driving/a...s/MARCH21.html (hit Ctrl+F and look for *, since the best time is marked with *)

I'm Pranav in the X3 class (X1=8cyl X2=6cyl X3=4cyl). I was on my 195/65-15 michelins for the 2nd time and I did much better. I actually got numerous compliments from people who saw me run, and saw what tires I was on Notice how I beat a few "fast" cars i.e the '04 and '02 WRX

Anyways, I haven't tried inducing slides with the brake, since I'd like to brake as late as possible and spend the least amount of time on the brake... I hope to try and work on trailbraking (brake in a straight line and a little bit into the turn) at the next few autocrosses...

However, at this past autocross there was a large high-speed sweeper with an "interruption" where I was able to practice lift oversteer for the first time ever

Yep, the PS system of our cars isn't up to the task of quick directional changes. I hate that too.

Now this is a lot of body roll:

Here's a crappy picture of me from last year:
