Default comptech & H&R springs

I am trying to decide between the H&R sports and comptech springs. The H&R's drop the car only 1/4 inche more (1.5F & 1.2R) then the comptechs. I can't compare the ride/handling between the two since I don't know anyone who has them. But I live in a part of the country with bad roads and potholes. So ride quality is important, as is handling/looks. All help would be greatly appreciated. 2000 accord V6 sedan

I have H&R Sports installed on my 98 Accord I-4 and the look and handling is great. The ride quality is slightly harder and you definitely "feel" the road. I currently life in an area where there are potholes every 10 feet or so and my shocks still haven't blown yet. A front strut bar will compliment the H&R's perfectly.

i'd have to say that the comptech's shouldn't be considered. it's such a slight drop (1.0 in at all corners) that the price tag is not worth it.

ever consider the Eibach ProKits? i've only heard good things about them.

I have the H&R sports with Koni adjustable shocks. I used the H&R's with my stock shocks for about 30k miles though, no problems, but better performance with the performance shocks.

Like said above, the ride is more firm, but not punishing by any means. If ride comfort is your priority, like Eklypse said, might want to look at pro-kits. I hear they ride similiar to stock if that's what you are looking for.

You can click below for pics of my ride (just note that my front is now another .25" lower by using a lower spring mount position on the koni's rather than the stock shocks).

What setting do you keep the Konis on & do you ever have a problem with ground clearance with the drop (scraping)

For everyday driving, I just keep them on full soft, which is just slightly stiffer than the stock shocks. I just got a custom tool made that will make adjusting the rear easier (won't have to do anything but fold the rear seat down) so I'll probably play with the settings more so I know where I want it when I hit some backroads to do some "spirited driving".

Considering the front is lowered about 2" and the front lip hangs another 3" lower, it's suprisingly driveable. With no lip...clearance is not an issue. With the sport springs alone, you'll still have as much clearance as half the cars on the road.

Even with my lip, I can navigate most approaches and driveways by using angles. There are a couple I look at and just keep on driving to the next entrance or back entrance haha. I've only grazed one speedbump (and that was only on the front of my sideskirt - which hangs just lower than my front lip, and probably 3" lower than the stock skirts). All the speedbumps I encounter on a daily basis are fine, I just creep over them.

This is the lowest point...just slightly lower than the front lip:

I know that looks real low, but the car is suprisingly driveable. I've honestly only scraped the front lip about 3-4 times in two years. But I'm sure a lot is dependant on what the roads/approaches are like in your town/city.

Hope that helps.
