Default Pics: Acura CL Gauges in 5gen Accord...Warning Big Pics

After my speedo died about 6 months ago, I was looking around for
a replacement gauge cluster when I ran across one for an 97 acura cl
on ebay. I was contemplating indiglo's or reverse indiglos but I like the
oemish look. Now that I have seen the gauges on the 98-99 cl's I am
wishing I would have waited because they have more of a prelude
look and orange dials. At any rate, here are the results:

i have a 98 3.0 cluster in my 94. Its not a 100% direct swap... easiest way is to take the gauges out of the cl cluster, and swap them into the accord cluster. The cluster housing on the cl has different mounting points. The 98-99 clusters also have an idiot light to remind you to take the key... so you'll want to use the gauge trim from your accord.

The 97 style clusters seem to be pretty easy to get a hold of... however, the 98-99 styles are pretty scarce.

I paid $75 for my CL cluster... $90 is rather steep... look around more, you can find better deals.

yeah im having a hard time finding a CL cluster. Ebay all has older accord clusters. Some however never say whether it is from a manual or not.

For the most part, it does not matter if the cluster is from an automatic or manual car, as long as you have the gauge trim piece. If you buy a manual cluster for an automatic car... you'll need to swap the PC board (from the existing automatic cluster) with the "PRNDD21" bulbs on it to the new cluster, as well as the gauge trim piece. If you do the opposite, auto cluster for a manual car, you just need to remove the bulbs for the drive selection, and put the manual trim on.

sorry if thats confusing.

Yeah, it was a direct plug. I pulled the gauge cluster from the cl apart and swapped all gauges over to the accord cluster. And as far as I know, yes the gauge clusters from the 98-99 cl's will work and they actually look better too (orange dials and different lettering).
