Default Just got in an accident. Now I need a CF hood.

A GMC refrigerator truck changed lanes into me and tore up the side of my car. It barely messed up the hood so I'm hoping to get a new one. I am looking for a VIS CF OEM hood. I'm sure someone has done the research to find the best price. So far I found them on e-bay for $450 shipped. Thats seems a bit much but my local NOPI store has them for that 450+tax. Let me know of good places to get these hoods.

Do I need hood pins? It comes with a latch so I would think pins are unecessary.

i had the same problem, bought a vis carbon fiber hood for 300 off ebay and picked it up. it was at a shop and it was brand new, boxed up with the foam things on the edge. i knew i got a good deal. its been a year now and absolutely no fading! i dont have hood pins on it either, the latch holds up fine.

do you remember the sellers name. Maybe the store still has them. I would feel better knowing that they sell good products.

he only had one. it wassnt a big shop, they had alot of scattered parts for diff cars. he probably got a good deal on one and decided to sell it. since youre in atlanta, they will probably charge you 100 to ship it so you dont really save anything. might as well go with a high feedback seller on ebay. the guy i got it from was jerry munley, 4912 jonestown road, harrisburg, pa 17109. you can visit their website at www.carhookups.com or call them at 717.920.0999. i dont know if any of this info is current since it was about a year ago.

VISracing.com is the BEST place to buy their hoods. If u send them a money order you can ask for a discount price. They ship 24hrs after getting payment. I just ordered mine after waiting over 3weeks for a ebay seller to tell me it will be another two. Vis told me I will get my hood next week and they recieved payment on tuesday.
