Default Newbie engine swap questions

I just found out that I'm having some rod knock in my motor, so I was looking into either rebuilding or replacing my F22B2 for an F22B1 motor. I have thought about the H22 swap but I'm giving the car to my daughter for her sweet 16 birthday and she doesn't need that kind of power. A friend offered me his old F22B1 motor from his wife's old car(side damage--totaled w/194k on it). He only kept the motor and the harness is crap(dog chewed it up--just my luck). The F22B1 swap does intrest me more since I didn't get the EX Accord with the VTEC back in 94'. The F22B2 motor will cost me about $500. My question is how much actual difference there is between the two motors if I do swap in the F22B1. I know the head is different, but what about the ECU, tranny, mounts, harness, intake, exhaust and such. With all the miles on the motor I plan on tearing it down and inspecting and replacing most of it, just in case. Any help you guys might be able to offer would be great. And yes I did get multiple opinions on the rod knock issue. Two from separate dealerships, and 2 from local shops in town. I don't want to spend more than $1000 on this task. I've already bought KYB GR2 struts(still debating on springs either Eibach Pro-Kit or H&R OEM Sports), some Brembo blanks with some AEM pads and Goodridge Stainless steel brake lines, and an AEM CAI kit. So My funds are slowly vanishing.

I think the ECU and head are different, and everything else is the same. But I'm far from the best source for this. Not too familiar with the F-Series family.

Good luck.
