Default Koni Yellows & Ride quality??

I was wondering what the ride quality is like with Koni Yellows. I personally have a 95 Accord lowered about 1.5-1.75", and I'm looking for some new shocks (I need them badly!!). I don't care about handling at all; I'm interested in getting the best ride quality possible.

From what I've been reading, people seem to favor the Koni Yellows if they are able to shell out enough $$ for them.

Thanks.

I've never owned them, or been in car with yellows, but I have NEVER heard anything bad about them. I actually looked at purchasing some at one time, and I didn't hear one complaint about them, so I don't think you can go wrong with them.

They are very good shocks. My car is lowered around 1.75" too (+/-). They are very predictable and when set all the way firm, give awesome response. I've played around with the shocks on softer settings and I must say, setting it all the way soft could give a pretty close to stock feel. So, the adjustability is key with the koni yellows. If you want something where you can change up how your car feels, this is it. Even if you don't plan on adjusting much, these are one of the best (if not the best) shocks you can get outside of full coilovers (ie. Teins).

I'd say, Go for it.

I've got the Koni Sports (yellows) on my Civic with a 1.5" drop. At full soft or even a 1/4" turn, they ride very close to stock. Another good thing about Konis, is that you can send them off to TrueChoice and have them rebuilt and revalved to any specific specs you want. This may be a good option if you start getting into a lot of track events, HPDEs, etc.

i bought these used, and they are sweet, but i keep them at full stiff all the time, at full soft they are good and ride almost like stock.

Thanks for your comments guys. Another question: will the Koni Yellows lower my car even more when I put them on? I have heard some people say that when you install the Yellows they actually drop your car a little more. Is that true?

Thanks.

This is correct. There are three grooves on the shock body that you can use to raise or lower the spring perch to get the desired height you are after. You place a snap ring in the groove you want to use and then the perch rests on the ring. If I had to guess, I'd say there's a 1/2" of total adjustment (up and down) available by using the different grooves.

So let's say I set the spring perch to it's highest setting, would my car be higher than it was before I installed the Koni Yellows? Or would it be about the same height?

I think the middle perch ring is the one to use that doesn't alter height, so the one above it would raise that part of the car roughly 1/4" overall.

yes it would. the normal level is on like the middle perche, so if you leave it in the middle you will have what everyone has with normal shocks and drop, but if you raise it 1-2 perches up you get a lil higher then normal, and if you lower it 1-2 perches you get a bit lower, hope that helps?
