Default Megan Exhaust System

I know it's not Greddy, Tanabe or some name brand but for a full exhaust, the price is not bad, just over $200 on ebay.

Just to let you know i did my research on this board. So my question is, what about the catalytic converter, i mean if i get a smog check would it pass?

I really don't care for the name brand as long as its affordable, looks nice and doesn't sound like sh!t, i'm ok with it.

Does anyone have this on their car? I have a 1994 accord coupe manual if that would help. Does it sound deep or loud?

I'm just going to say.... you pay for what you get. 200 bux to me is going to sound like shit. I would wait and spend the extra 2-300 bux for something quality such as, Greddy, Apex, Tanabe, Thermal, and RS*R.

If you still have your stock cataliytic converter, use it. If your stock cat is clogged then, get on ebay and look for a Carsound Catalytic converter, or www.mufflertech.com and grab one from them.

For the $200 spent on the Megan knockoff of Mugen, you'd be better off buying a Flowmaster at your local muffler shop and paying for the install. It'd probably sound better and you'd spend less.

what i'd worry about is the decibles this exhaust puts out. in CA, aren't the cops total pricks about sound violations? any $200 system will be heard from blocks away.

sup dave,

i'd stay away from it. if you're worried about passing smog, and stuff like that, unless they have a carb sticker and have papers that come w/ it stating its street legal.

funny thing is, i jus got a ticket for my greddy evo. i dont have the papers and stuff so i gotta go to the shop next week and pick them up. so jus because it is street legal, they'll pull you over still :eek3:

I agree I have a Evo on my car and have been pulled over a number of times. Even though it is legal. If I am not mistaken almost if not all of Greddy exhaust are 50 state legal. I would wait and save the money and get a greddy, but I like greddys, so. It is worth the money.

yeah i got a ticket for my greddy evo....it's 50 state legal, but in my city there's an ordinance against exhaust modification of any kind...if it's louder than stock, it's illegal. that law was really for those trucks with glass packs and flowmasters...but my poor exhaust was caught in the middle...funny thing is, when i got the ticket, the cop pulled me over for "speeding." but didn't clock me. then he asked me how fast i was going, so i told him "speed limit." he then realized he was phucked so he starts poking around my car and saw the exhaust...i got him for it tho, i kept him out there for 20 minutes asking quesitons that made no sense about laws and the ticket...then he finally just told me to call the number on the ticket for questions, and then he just burned off on me as i called him a bitch and flipped him off while he was driving away...if i had a box of twinkies in the car his fat ass woulda let me off...holla

Most places don't have laws against modifing exhausts as long as the sound they put out is not irretable (or some other term that means the same thing). As far as smog u don't have to worry about it because the exhaust bolts on to ur stock catalytic converter. Smogwise nothing is changed, just the sound outp0ut.
