Default Legal or Not...

Here's the tricky thing about Exhaust and the laws... the law actually states that you CANNOT modify your exhaust in any way shape or form unless it's a repair. So doesn't matter what you do.. a cop can get you with a lot of detailed technicallities. What they really care about is how loud it is. At WOT the car has to measure less than I think 94-decibles. Which isn't that hard to do really. The thing is.. a cop has to judge it from his standpoint. They DO NOT Care if the product is street legal or not.
Good thing though.. is that the DOT actually has testing stations for free to take your car to. You go.. get it tested.. and if you're less than 94 decibles (which you probably are) then they give you a piece of paper saying so that you can show to any cop saying that it obeys all sound-pollution laws.
As for the Megan exhaust.. I do their testing for their products and it's pretty good quality. No, they're not a knock-off of Mugen, we've been plagued by that since the company opened up, there's actually a meaning for Megan, and it's not someone's name either. It's not too loud at all, there's a strong built-in resonator that keeps the sound to a nice mellow tone. Until you get on it.. then it's pretty aggressive, but never raspy. It's not about how much it costs that makes the sound.. it's about the construction. Honestly I think you'd be pretty satisfied with it if you got it.. but that's just my opinion. I wouldn't work here if I can't put my name on it.

On a further note... if there's ANY problems at all with any of Megan's products. LET ME KNOW. Often problems might arise and no one tells us.. they just come on Forums and talk bad about us. We've been trying to get through all our parts and really work out the bugs. And we need people's help.. not criticizm. So.. let us know. Thanks...

Default What it is...

"Megan" is actually the english spelling for a Chinese or Japanese word. The owner told me before but I can't really remember. The meaning is somewhere along the lines of "something elegant" or something like that. I forget... but it's not a knock-off Mugen. Like most people, we respect Mugen.. we'd never insult the name by making "Knock-Off's".

I've heard over on CRSX that the new Megan header/exhaust system is the bomb for the RSX-S.

Something about the DC Sport Race Header vibrates like a sonofabitch and needs the Energy Suspension motor mount inserts.

I also heard it gave more gains over the DCRH too. :dunno:
