Default spring break projects *pics*

Few things, since my wheels were curbed i tried using this method to repair them

http://www.robsaudiworld.com/wheelrepair.htm

All was going fine and dandy until the painting, i ordered the wrong paint and it was too dark. So i have to wait to get new paint ( this shit was 25 dollars for 13 oz can! )

Anyhow, my intercooler piping was rusting, and my splash guard thing on the drivers side was loose and rubbing my wheel so i took an oppurtunity to fix these

First i took off the bumper and piping, then went to the art studio at my school and sandblasted the piping. This got the old paint and rust off nicely

Here's me wrestling with the piping

So anyway, after that was done i attempted to fix my splash guard. It had been ripped off where it holds onto the front bumper cover, so there was no to mount it. I drilled some holes and found new mounting points

also, since i didn't wanna spend 2 dollars a clip everytime i take my bumper off, i just spring for zipties

This is how i usually jack up my car, i use the smaller jack on the side, then if i need anymore i use my bigger jack in the front. Today only required the side jack. Since it doesn't fit under the sideskirts or front lip, just turn the wheel all the way to the side, slide it under and jack it up using the frame

Now in michigan, this is what are called creepers. None of those fancy things with wheels that you use. You put newpaper down on a block of ice and slide under.

The michigan creeper

And last of all a lesson, don't ever buy things from tv ads. I bought the miracle blade set for my mother, and a set of scissors came with them. Under the stress of zipties, this is what happened

i'm also trying to remove most of the rust from my engine bay

and a random picture

Most of the stuff you can get at a hardware store...sandpaper, bondo, paint thinner, scratch filler primer. Only thing is you gotta find the right kind of wheel paint and a decent clearcoat. If your wheels are german made, they use this metallic silver paint that you can get here

Nice. Love the Michigan creeper. What about painting/powdercoating the intercooler piping to prevent future rust?

When the pipes came to me they were rusted so i gave a half assed sanding job and painted them aluminum. (i painted all the pipes) I probable didn't sand enough, but the paint just wasn't sticking to them, and within a few weeks the rust came back. I didn't have time to get all of them done, but i don't really wanna paint them again.

I'd like to get them powdercoated but i don't know anyone locally that would do that so for now they'll just stay as is..
