Default 97 EX doesn't have a stock header.

I took my heat shield off my so called stock header today, and well I was very dissappionted. If that is supposed to be a header then it sucks. It looked just like a regular manifold to me. Now I live I in Canada. Is it possible that the Canadian EX :canada: is different from the American :usa: version? :thinking: Does anyone have a picture of the stock header with the heat shield removed so I can compare. It almost makes me wonder what else is different. Maybe I don't even have a Vtec in mine. Shit maybe I don't have a honda at all :dunno:

Does the engine say VTEC on it? I doubt the factory exhaust manifold would look very "cool"...

Actually no it doesn't. From reading spec sheets I just thought that all EX's did, and that the LX didn't. Is there anyway to tell from the engine code?

Wow, I've never heard of a 97 EX not having the Vtec motor, yes if you post the engine code you can tell if it is or isnt vtec.

Are you serious. That f__king sucks. I was kind of wondering why I never really felt that little bit of VTEC extra boost. shit that kind of makes me wonder what the hell the LX is up here then. I should sue Honda. :a:

In Canada the Accord EX-R is equipped with a vtec motor. Vtec in a f22 isnt amazing anyways so youre not missing much. The manifold is as ugly as the non vtec one too. Sue Honda haha. Why, cause not all their engines came with a fuel economic vtec function? :dunno:

I thought the EX-R was a six cylinder. If that is the case then what is the difference in the canadian version of the EX and the LX. Are you guys positive that it isn't a VTEC? Is there another way to tell if I have a VTEC or not, I mean the block could be the same but have a differnent valve head on it couldn't it? If that is the case then how much horsepower do I have. What does the LX have now. I am really confused. I feel so betrayed. :cry: :drunk:
