Default 5th gen accord suspension

Whats a good way to lower my 5th gen accord for around 500 bucks. I need something adjustable if possible, camber kits and struts if needed, and something that goes down at least 2 inches. Thanks

or, here is a group buy for some JDM(or so the ad says) hayame full coilovers for $650

AGx KYB adjustable shocks for $380 shipped(these are really good shocks)

with a 2" drop you're definately gonna need a camber kit, with a 5th gen all you need is a front kit and you can correct the camber in the back with shims.

hope this helps

Thanks for the quick help. Whats the difference between gas shocks and anything else? Also if i got those would i need new struts as well as a camber kit?

shocks and struts are basically the same thing, struts have a mount for your brake line on them, whereas shocks do not. that is the difference between the two. shocks themselves aren't going to lower your car, you would have to buy lowering springs or coilover sleeves, i personally would suggest springs because coilover sleves ride like ass, though with springs your ride height is not adjustable. depends on the tradeoff you want. as a general rule any drop below 1.5" is going to require front and rear camber correction. on a 5th gen the rear can be corrected easily and very inexpensively. however, depending on how adjustable you want your front camber to be, some front camber kits can be as expensive as $150. depends on what you want. when i did the search on gbc for those parts i listed earlier i did see a buy for an ingalls front kit(one of the most recommended names for camber kits) for around $120. that's for front correction only. the rear camber can be corrected with shims(basically standard washers) and a longer bolt.

hope this helps

so those are pretty much just adjustable shocks? How do you adjust them?

yep.. the front ones are adjusted by a screw type apparatus on top of the strut, and the rear ones have a dial.

also try www.tirerack.com for suspension parts. a set of KYB AGX shocks for a 5th gen accord is only going to be $352 shipped

i doubt you'll be able to stay within your $500 budget and still get decent (and new) parts, because installation will probably won't be cheap either. but getting both shocks and springs at the same time is a good idea. from a monetary point of view, you'll only have to pay for the installation labor once.

for the springs you can always cruise ebay for slightly used ones as well.. just stick to the usual name brands such as neuspeed, H&R, eibach, etc... and you should be just fine
