In all honesty the 10 hp "rated" difference isn't worth the extra $400 they are gonna jack you for it, these are flywheel estimations and will fluctuate depending on many things such as break in, maintenence, mileage etc.

As for model year 01 they do exist but I think finding an 01 is gonna be a little harder to find but not impossible.

I would still double check about the engine year needing to be same or newer though just in case I am wrong...I do not guarantee anything I say is 100% correct in that area.

I'm not worried about laws, I live in Oregon which has emissions, but I also have residency in Wyoming which is still in the middle ages. I just want the conversion to be as smooth as possible. That helps though that they do make '01 H22's. The engine code is H22A4 right?

I didn't even see that you were in Ashland...I am in Portland but we have emissions here

You may want to keep those things in mind anyways because if you resale the vehicle you will want to know how to make it legal or at least let the person buying know what is up with it.

and yes H22a4 is the USDM model designation code.

If you can't find a motor from your year or newer just find a corrupt inspector

Thank's for the suggestion. I'm sure finding a corrupt emissions tester would work just as well as anything. LOL. By the way how'd you like the snow, it dumped down here! I think I've decided on making the conversion to the USDM H22, thanks for all your help...I think I'm just gonna start putting a little money aside each paycheck so I can still keep workin' on the other mod's I want, plus tax time's coming, WOO HOO! Thanks for the help dude,
R.J.
