I wouldnt mind upgrading this CVA-1005 to something newer... but i think these foldout LCD headunits are kinda hoopty now :P

too bad the 4th gen interior is flat on that console, not curved like yours.
yup, i just velcroed in a cheap LCD screen in my 4th gen that folds down so i can get to the head unit. it looks kinda stupid, but functionality is what i care about. it lets me change songs on my computer.

i also have a computer on my car hooked to the CVA-1005.

I used a broken laptop that happened to have a composite out on it (RCA out). Works good.. i used the X10 RF remote/mouse/keyboard emulator dingus and that is how i run Winamp .. works good, but kinda ghetto... i like the old laptop because it slides right under the seat and no one sees it.

as you can see in the console i have a rectifier/gameport and thats how i use it unless i have the playstation plugged in for riders.

anyway.. this is all stuff for another post sometime not tryin to get off topic on this guy.. he is doing some nice work.

Zidek, where else could you put the power button? I got a factory foglight switch there so there's no go.

Hey, let me know if you wanna get a new system. I'd be interested in buying yours.

you dont want it.. CVA-1005 = hoopty now. but if you really want it i'd prob want 700 for it. 850 for it and the 12disc.. i'll know if i can afford to replace it in the next week.

hahah, well my computer is just a regular desktop computer that i built from old parts laying around the house and from ebay. I have it wedged between my back seat and my sub box so it has no room to move around. I have it hooked up to a power inverter that i hard wired to the battery and installed a switch in my console under my head unit. I have a VGA to NTSC converter for the video output for my monitor and i have a ground loop isolator (gets rid of the 60hz buzz) with the rca outs that i have hooked into my cd changer. As far as control goes, I have a wireless keyboard and a wireless trackball. The computer holds 36gb, and 10 of those GB's are mp3s. I update my computer through my laptop which i just plug into the ethernet port on both machines. Nothing fancy, just a big mp3 player.

i think your screen is gonna look pretty good. nice work.

anywhere you want. basically all you need to do is open up whatever it is, disconnect the power switch, and tap/solder wires to it like an extension so you can put it wherever. i chose there cause it's not too far and easy to reach.
