97 Accord LX 2.7L V6

just topped 160,000 original miles the other day. runs like a champ. timin belt recently changed. oil ALWAYS gets changed every 3,000 miles running mobil 1 full synthetic, tranny still holdin up wit a slight delay, so AAMCO says minor knocking(lifter)when motor cold, then goes away when warm any affordable cures for that?

227,000 and still going strong

 

225,053 bought last week. The 3rd owner. 2nd owner had it for 11years and said he ran 93 octane in it.. My question is the if the car ran that long on 93 octane, and it runs WELL I must add, should I take the if it ain't broke don't fix it approach and keep using 93 or can I ween it down by using 89 octane for a while and then go to regular 87 octane.

 

AH....my last car was a 1992 Honda Accord LX 2D 5 Speed...purchased at 64K.....driven for 10 years.....sold with 191K.......had to replace headgasket at 180K with 2nd timing belt.......a/c worked until compressor was 13 years old and car had 170K on odometer. Also, never replaced the clutch! Great Car......I now have a MINT 2002 Accord EX-4D purchased from the folks with a mere 70K on the clock.....needless to say, I hope to have the 02 for a very, very long time!
