Default *Widest possible tires for stock rims???*

I searched already and it seems like most run 205-55-R15's as replacements for the EX(7spoke) rims. But I've heard that I can run 215-??-R15's on my stock 5th gen V6 rims from what Costco said when they checked, even 225's but I think that's pushing it. The stock V6 rims are 15x6 compared to Ex's which are 15x5.5. So if they can go up 10mm in width, I should be able to also right from 205 to 215? Thanks.

I bet the 225 will look a bit funky on a 6" wide wheel. I have that width on a 7.5 and it looks normal. You may get away with 215. I have 205s on my wife's civic with what I assume is a 5.5" steel wheel. The 205's look a bit "flared out" from the wheel, but not real goofy looking.

I've researched this before. Some of the tires i was looking at for 205/55/15 were:

yoko avs es100
Potenza S0-3's
and Falken Azeines for 205/50/15 (only 70 bucks per tire)

Thanks guys.

and yea they do make 215-55-R15's. The Kuhmo 711's were the only ones from tirerack, pretty cheap at $50/tire +shipping.

Do you think 215-50-R15 is okay? The speedo will be off, I know, but what about looks. I'm afraid 215-55-R15 will look wide but the sidewalls will look 'fat' and not performance oriented looking enough. i.e. thinner sidewalls look sportier
