Default What offset will I need with 19's ??

Hey guys-

Getting ready to pick up a used Accord, 94-97, EX and I know I'm going to go with 19's. I'm not sure what offest I would need to go with in order to make sure there's no rubbing. Anyone out there have any suggestions as to what width and what offset I should go with??? 7", 7 1/2", 8" ???? I've already go plans for all the other stuff, just want to make sure I go with the correct rim offest the first time.

Thanks....

I think you'd be safe with any of those offsets, depending on how low you are planning on dropping the car. Also, you can always roll your fenders with the baseball bat trick to prevent even more rubbing...

But IMO, I would go with 18s, 19s are a little too much wheel..

quite honestly, on a 6th gen (98-02), getting 19s is pushing the envelope, but on a 5th gen (94-97), the tire size would be even thinner.

Anyways, for a 7.5" wide rim, the ideal offset is +45mm

For a 8" wide rim, the ideal offset is +47mm (I think)

If you look at this thread, one guy says he has 19x8" rims on +45mm offset, and he says he doesn't rub

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate the info. I want to go with 19's cause I want to set the car right on top, or possibly tuck a bit of, the tire and I feel that with 18's on it the uderbody of the car will be a bit lower than I want to go.

Thanks....

a 45 offset is good for a 19x8. i have 19x8 with 45 offset on my 6th gen, and i don't rub at all. i even had a full car with the rear wheels tucked into the wheel wells and still didn't rub, but that depends on how stiff your suspension is. anyway, for a 5th gen, you might want to look at 19x7 or 7.5. you might also want to go with a 215/35 tire to be on the safe side. i have 225/35's.

as far as 19's pushing it on a 6th gen, they still look small on my car to me. probably should have looked for 20's. my .02

Thanks for the reply man, I'm looking to go with a set of 7 1/2's after doing some reading. I'll also look for a set of 215/35's after seing a few pics and reading your reply.

Later man...
