Default h22 tranny on f22 block

It was my understanding from reading about swaps that you could only use things with the same letter f with f and h with h...Now i hear that a h22 tranny will bolt right on to my f22...ummmm is this true, and if so where can i buy one

The H series tranny will bolt up to a F series motor. It will not make a difference in terms of reliability. All honda auto's will suck. All of their 5 speeds are great.

the reason to do the swap is to benefit from the more aggressive gear ratios of the H22...you will lose top speed but get better acceleration, lose fuel economy, and spend more of your life near redline (more wear and tear)

go for it.

I absolutely agree (despite hitting 100 at least once a day), but the downside is that at 60 mph your spinning at around 3000+ rpm ( i think that's how it worked out) which is great cuz your in the aggressive cam profile, but youre burning more fuel compared to stock gearing where 3500 rpm is 85 mph....

Are you sure? about the fuel? It was my understanding that you dont burn fuel becasue of the RPM's, but the throttle. Think about it, your engine could be spinning at 3k, but if you have your foot off the gas, or barly on it, you are still not letting any more air (and fuel) enter the engine than before...

Dont know if im right or not, somone assist
