Default Console lights

Help, just picked up an 89 accord with no radio. My son was trying to install, and pulled the stero out - must have caught a wire, because now there are no panel lights or dash lights.
I checked fuses and they are ok, and I don't see any loose wires. Any help or suggestions besides not letting my son touch car - It will be his soon. Thanks much!

get a multimeter and check connections, other than that? I'm not sure that I can think of anything that'd cause that, unless he blew a fuse by grounding something out. Unfortunate thing, but I wouldn't be too mad at him .

which is the dimmer/accessory wire and/or fuse?
I can't find a fuse labled anything close and I do not have a manual. I think the dimmer/accessory wire is the red /black. Its hard to read any schematics. It looks like fuse 7 in the hayes manual. But my fuse 7 is a high beam fuse.

if he pulled a live wire loose and it grounded out somewhere it could've melted the wires together... that's what happened with my jimmy.. somehow the cig lighter + wire came loose, grounded out, heated up real bad, and all the wires behind the radio melted together causing a ton of trouble one of the many things that went wrong in that truck.

Good luck. Doesn't sound like there's going to be an easy fix for this one.

Ah-ha - I see in the engine just outside the fire wall a hanging orange wire with what looks like the wire was ripped from the engine some where. Now just from where...
